Project Development Manager

UCL Business PLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of University College London (UCL) and we aim to generate income and create capital value for UCL through the commercial exploitation of the bioscience, physical sciences and medical device research base at UCL and its associated institutes.

We are seeking a Project Development Manager to undertake the management of various research and commercially related projects that UCL Business or its subsidiary companies are currently commissioning. You will work closely with the Business Managers and report to the Senior Project Development Manager.

The candidate should have an Engineering background and have experience of working in the medical device technology industry. They should be able to demonstrate comprehensive experience of monitoring, progressing and completing complex projects. The candidate would ideally have experience of and would be required to contribute to the technical feasibility of novel medical device designs, development and build to include class III devices, active and software. You will play an active role in projects, assisting the key stakeholders in managing the full life cycle of a project and will cultivate successful working relationships with internal and external key people and organisations.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to work with academics and clinicians to provide a comprehensive project management/development service. The successful individual will have had experience working in industry on medical device related technologies and will have a engineering qualification with a science background.

The salary will be in the region of £35,000 to £50,000 depending on experience. UCL Business offers a contributory pension scheme and performance-related bonus scheme.
