Virtual Shakespearean London Project
In partnership with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and The Museum of London, UCL is creating a comprehensive virtual representation of the Southwark area and the Thames at the end of the Elizabethan period, c.1600.
Existing archaeological, architectural and historical records are providing the source data for an interactive reconstruction of the area in and around the Globe Theatre. The latest generation location-based, scanning and communication technologies will allow this reconstruction to be presented from different perspectives and through a range of internet and hand-held devices.
