Dr Libby Oakden
Senior Business Manager
Libby joined UCLB in 2012 as a Senior Business Manager (BioPharm) Responsible for UCLB’s IP & commercialisation service to University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to joining UCLB Libby was employed at the University of Manchester Intellectual Property Ltd. for eight years, most recently as a Venture Manager, working with Spin out companies such as Phagenesis. Libby brings considerable experience of working across a portfolio of health related technology commercialisation projects including many that involved both University and NHS Trust innovators.
Libby’s doctorate thesis, awarded by The University of Manchester, investigated grey and white matter injury in the neonatal brain due to hypoxic ischemic damage.
In addition to her PhD Libby holds an Applied BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology, having completed an industrial placement year at Wyeth-Ayerst.
