Rebecca Paulraj joined the Biomedical Science Team at UCLB in mid 2012 as a Business Manager. She is responsible for assisting in the commercial exploitation of IP arising from the UCL departments of Medicine, Mental Health Sciences, Cell & Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology, Epidemiology and Public Health, Physiology, The Ear Institute and the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
Prior to joining UCLB, Rebecca was the Development Programme Manager for the therapeutics and diagnostics portfolio at NHS Innovations London Ltd and was part of the Xpedite® Innovation Management (XIM) and Xcelerate® Health Outcomes (Health Economics) consulting teams.
Rebecca has previously held the positions of Customer Project Manager and Validation Scientist at Lonza Biologics where she was responsible for managing numerous mammalian/recombinant drug intermediate development programmes for multinational and small pharmaceutical companies within a cGMP manufacturing environment. She was employed as a QA Auditor and Research Scientist at Covance Laboratories Ltd., Harrogate and has held a Wellcome Research Assistantship at the University of Oxford and assistantships at the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) and Kings College London – performing research in the fields of Neuroscience, Pulmonary Asthma and Molecular Genetics.
Rebecca has a MBA in Technology Management and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology and Management with a specialisation in Molecular Genetics.
