London based fuel cell company, Bramble Energy has announced the close of a £35million investment round. The financing will help the spinout to further expand its game changing capabilities in solving key challenges in the production and implementation of hydrogen fuel cell stacks.

The investment was led by HydrogenOne Capital Growth plc and is supported by the existing institutional investors (BGF, IP Group, Parkwalk Advisors and the UCL Technology Fund).

The investment builds on a long standing relationship between UCLB and Bramble Energy, which began in 2011, marking the start of the company’s commercialisation journey. It was then that UCLB decided to patent the unique technology which formed the basis of the spinout’s mission to power net zero.

Mark Harding, Senior Business Manager, UCLB commented: “Bramble Energy are actively developing and creating what will be some of the key building blocks of the hydrogen economy. This funding will enable them to continue making a positive impact on the environment.”
