‘The Bartlett Invents!’ Pitch and Awards 2025

1 August 2025

‘The Bartlett Invents!’ Pitch and Awards participants pitched their transformative ideas on 29 July to an audience of academics and innovation professionals.

Hosted at UCL’s IDEALondon, ‘The Bartlett Invents!’ event was a competition and digital showcase for innovations developed by The Bartlett staff, PhD students, and researchers.

Organised by UCL’s Centre for Sustainability and RealTech Innovation, the afternoon featured a dynamic mix of innovative ideas in architecture, urban planning, and sustainability. The pitches were split into two sessions, with a short refreshment break in between.

The researchers’ pitches were evaluated by a panel that included Harry Lamb, Business Manager at UCLB, as well as Naqash Tahir from PGIM Real Estate, and D’Maris Coffman from UCL Bartlett.

Harry spoke following the event: It was fantastic to see so many passionate researchers from The Bartlett pitching their ideas. We saw the true breadth of research across The Bartlett. Congratulations to the winners and I’m looking forward to next year’s event.

Following the conclusion of the pitches, the event winners were announced, who went on to receive cash prizes for their efforts. The UCLB prize winners were Paul Bavister/ Zara Jay with Humbrella, and runner up was Vijay Pawar with AeroBuild.

Congratulations to the wonderful academics who pitched their ideas, and a huge thank you to our audience, academics and staff for making the overall event such a success.
