Business Manager – Permanent

We have two new opportunities for Business Managers to join the BioPharm team at UCL Business. Responsible for the technology transfer activities with the Royal Free Hospital and UCL Division of Medicine or UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK.

For the Royal Free opportunity, we are happy to consider candidates who wish to transition to a career in Technology Transfer with less practical experience than specified in the Business Manager person specification, where skills are relevant, but do not meet the full criteria.  Where this applies, we will consider your application for the role of Associate Business Manager and the salary range is £35,000 to £42,000 dependent on experience.

Working time for the UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK role is split equally, working 50% as a Business Manager for UCLH and 50% as a Translation Manager for CRUK. 

For both roles you will be able to demonstrate a strong grounding in a biological or medical related discipline, preferably to a PhD level, together with commercial experience and an excellent grasp of intellectual property issues. Previous technology transfer experience within the NHS is desirable but not essential.

You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with excellent communication and organisational skills. The postholder will be required to work closely with academics and clinicians in identifying wide ranging novel technologies, enable development of the technologies and ultimately commercialisation of them at the interface of academia, healthcare and industry. This is an opportunity to be involved in the complete development and commercialisation pathway in a dynamic technology transfer environment.
