As Business Manager in the Physical Sciences and Engineering team, Dr Alireza Sadeghi supports the identification, development, and commercialisation of UCL research across materials, engineering, and sustainability-focused technologies.

Alireza joined UCLB with a background spanning deep-tech research, entrepreneurship, and venture capital. He co-founded a cleantech startup, where he held senior operational and sustainability leadership roles and helped scale the business internationally. Alongside this, he gained hands-on investment experience at a VC fund, sourcing and diligencing early-stage investments across cleantech, materials, and energy transition.

He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, is a Chartered Engineer, and has led industrial R&D and technology development, with experience as an inventor on patented technologies.
