Apoorva holds a BEng in mechanical and industrial engineering from Osmania University, an MSc in entrepreneurship from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an MBA from Bologna Business School. Apoorva started her career as an IP valuation and licensing consultant for high stakes IP disputes in the telecom sector in the United States and later moved to working with early-stage businesses. She has experience with setting up entrepreneurship and IP cells for engineering colleges, organising accelerator programmes, and developing commercial strategies for IP created at universities.

More recently, she worked for UCL’s Innovation and Enterprise department delivering Innovate UK-funded programmes, advising London-based start-ups and spinouts to develop commercial and IP strategy, access public and private funding, and find R&D partners to scale their business. She also holds a certificate in IP management and valuation from Luiss Business School and the World Intellectual Property Organisation and has completed her certified patent valuation analyst training. She is currently responsible for IP protection and commercialisation of technologies developed at UCL’s Electronic and Electrical Engineering, London Centre for Nanotechnology, Physics and Astronomy, and Quantum Science and Technology Institute.
