Problem: Prevention of childhood obesity is an international public health priority given the significant impact of obesity on acute and chronic diseases, general health, development and well-being.
Solution: TrimTots/Planet Munch, an evidence-based programme, has been successfully delivered in 13 centres between 2008 and 2018 and is now poised to be rolled out nationally with the possibility of expanding into the international healthy market.
Impact: Beneficiaries are families with young children, early years’ practitioners, school/family centre staff and volunteers involved with delivery of the programme.
