I/O Lab
For UCL academics looking to explore the commercialisation potential of their research.
I/O Lab is a programme specifically designed for UCL academics interested in understanding how to assess the potential of their research in a commercialisation context. The programme runs once a year and is delivered over two months (via in-person weekly sessions) by UCL Business together with the UCL Technology Fund. Although there is a focus on assessing suitability of ideas and technologies for spinout creation, the programme also introduces other pathways for commercial impact such as licensing.
Each week of the programme will cover a different aspect of the commercialisation journey, taking participants from innovation assessment, through to commercialisation. In the weekly sessions, academics will be provided with an opportunity to discuss their business or product ideas with UCL Business Managers and UCL Technology Fund Investment Managers
